We arrived safe and problem free last night in Manti. We met with our friend Junelle and settled in to the rustic stone house. In the quiet before the week begins, we are enjoying the beautiful city of Manti and the quiet of the town. LDS will be travelling from all over the US to attend the pageant and so we are excited about the opportunities for this week. Today we plan on serving in and around Manti, reaching out to the LDS community here.It should be an interesting year. There has been threats by the LDS leadership to keep the Christians sequestered away from any LDS walking to and from the pageant with the consequence of being arrested for any who might try to evangelize. So far they have not done this, but are refusing Christians use of the public restrooms near the temple. Please pray that we would continue to have opportunities to share God's word this week.
We await the rest of our team from Calvary Chapel later this afternoon. Please continue to pray for safe travel.

It's so great to hear that you made it there safely! I got Chip's email today and read about the amazing things that God is doing through His Ambassadors in Manti. I have a feeling that God is going to use your calm and loving approach to transform people in ways you never saw before. And I know that your team will be encouraging the Calvary team and preparing them for even greater things in the future. What an amazing opportnuity and how beautiful it is there. Thanks for the photo. Be sure to take and post photos often! We are praying for you back here. Please tell Jimmy that I miss seeing him each day but I guess I had better get used to it once he is goen to UCLA.

hey! mindy here! i've been keeping up with chip and jaimie's emails and it does indeed sound like it is going to be an interesting year...but you are THE rising tide. you got this!! ;) haha. no but really, i think we can look at it this way, it could be God's way of opening up a NEW opportunity to evanglize to the mormons...and a new way for us all to present the truth. we know the truth and it's just sometimes in how it's packaged for someone to have that "oh i get it moment". it's still the same gift on the inside, just different delivery. :) to a new year, new opportunities, new conversations, and new life. :) love you guys.
