PleaseConvinceMe Podcast 209
In this podcast, Jim examines Christian “hypocrisy” and the proper definition of Biblical forgiveness as he reflects on his experience in Cold Case murder trials. How are we to respond when people claim that Christians are hypocrites? Are Christians called to forgive those who have victimized them, even when the offenders are unrepentant?

Sorry I'm late on this, misplaced my notes for a while. I found this podcast to be very interesting and helpful.
People use one action, especially something they perceive, and label the entire person as a hypocrite or "false Christian". They won’t allow us to be human or make mistakes.
I really liked the part about persistent behavior, continual and unapologetic contradiction between beliefs and behaviors.
Examine yourselves, to see that you are in the faith, is something many Christians should remember to do. I have a problem with Christian hypocrisy toward other Christians, being judgmental and arrogant because someone’s not "spiritual enough" to please them. F'rinstance, JWW could be called a hypocrite for using secular soundbites on his podcast. Someone that judgmental is someone that I am reluctant to associate with.
Forgiveness: We’re on the same page, methinks. Some people think that Christians are just supposed to stand there and take it, get beaten to a pulp and smile with the love of Jesus in their eyes. If you defend yourself, protect your family, guess what? You’re a hypocrite!
Some people are just looking for an excuse, no matter how flimsy, to attack the person delivering the message. (The sequence of "logic" seems to be, "You made a mistake. You're a hypocrite. There is no God!")Jim indicated that Christians do not have a monopoly on hypocrisy, and perhaps these others should take a look at their own lives and do some introspection.
